Infographics
Infographics are a valuable tool in instructional design, offering a visually compelling way to communicate complex information quickly and effectively. By combining images, icons, and concise text, infographics can enhance learner engagement, simplify challenging concepts, and improve retention. They cater to visual learners and allow for the clear presentation of data and ideas, making information more accessible and memorable. When integrated thoughtfully, infographics not only enrich the learning experience but also support diverse learning styles, reinforcing key messages and boosting overall comprehension.
Instructional Technology History
For this infographic I used Canva. Since the topic was historical points in instructional design, I used a black and white theme for most of the images. I also used this for the type and background because it made it easy for the learner to read. I tried to keep the design and content concise.
Cognitivism
I made this Cognitivism infographic in Canva, using simple tools to keep it clear and organized. I chose a template that has soft, colorful shapes for visual interest. Each part—Definition, Key Theorists, Characteristics, Methodologies, and Sources—has its own section with bold headers to make it easy to read. It also has small icons to help explain the information and keep it engaging.
Video Editing in Adobe After Effects
In this infographic made with Adobe Express, I used a film strip design to match the topic of video editing. The blue and orange colors create contrast and make each part easy to see. Bold titles and bullet points help organize the steps so they’re easy to follow. Each section is in its own box, which guides the viewer through the process step-by-step.
